Each level of Scrubby Dubby Saga has a move limit, and challenges players to complete a different goal, from collecting large amounts of certain symbols to rescuing their Facebook friends (represented by their profile pictures) by using the shape on each picture in a match, as examples. Levels become more complicated as players progress, with the introduction of elements like ice and sand castles, for instance. These particular obstacles can be cleared by making matches next to them, but other obstacles may be different.Over time, players will unlock access to premium power-ups that can help them complete stages. For instance, a hammer can be used to clear one chosen symbol from the board. Players receive three free hammers, and can purchase additional hammers with gold bars, the game’s premium currency.Gamers earn up to three stars on each level, depending on their final score, and can compare their scores with their friends’ scores on the leaderboard for each stage. If players fail to complete a stage before running out of moves, they lose a life.

These recharge automatically over time, can be sent between friends as free gifts, or can be purchased with gold bars. Once they fail a level, players also have the option of spending gold bars on additional moves to avoid completely restarting.
